Tell the legislature that you support comprehensive-sex education in Massachusetts!
The Joint Committee on Education has given two thumbs up on a bill that ensures that if a school in Massachusetts teaches sex education, it will provide students with comprehensive, medically accurate, and age appropriate sex education.
For this bill to pass, it needs to get a vote on the floor of both the State House and the State. We need your help to make sure that legislative leadership understands the importance of providing young people with information about abstinence, delaying sexual activity, healthy relationships and healthy behaviors free of coercion, effective contraceptive use, and sexually transmitted infections.
Sign our petition today! Tell Speaker Bob DeLeo and Senate President Therese Murray that you support comprehensive-sex education that gives young people the facts they need to make healthy decisions about sex and relationships.
Dear Senate President Murray and Speaker DeLeo,
I urge you to allow the Healthy Youth bill to the floor for a vote. I strongly support comprehensive, medically accurate, and age appropriate sex education being provided to the students of the commonwealth. If we do not create standards for teaching sex education, we leave students unprepared to make important health decisions. Abstinence only curricula provide medical misinformation about sexual activities and contraception, and they have failed our youth. We need to ensure that only comprehensive sex education is being taught in Massachusetts.
